The short version

Pinglist watches things you choose and pings you when they change. We collect only what we need to do that and to run your account. You can use Pinglist without giving us your name or email. We never sell your data, and you can delete your account — and everything in it — from inside the app at any time.

Who we are

Pinglist (“Pinglist,” “we,” “us”) is a service that monitors publicly available listings, prices, and releases on your behalf and notifies you when something you care about changes. This policy explains what information we handle when you use the Pinglist mobile app and this website, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account and identity

By default, Pinglist creates an anonymous account tied to a random identifier on your device — you can start using the app without signing in or giving us any personal details. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a stable account identifier and, where you permit it, your email address and display name so we can sync your watches across devices. If you join our waitlist on this website, we collect the email address you submit.

Your watches and alerts

We store the things you ask us to watch — for example search terms, listing or page URLs, the source you selected, and your alert preferences — along with the change history and notifications we generate for you. This is the core data that makes the service work.

Device and notification data

If you enable push notifications, we store a push token and basic device information (such as platform and OS version) so we can deliver alerts. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings or in the app.

Purchases

Subscriptions (Pinglist Pro) are processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play and managed through our payments partner, RevenueCat. We receive your subscription status and a purchase identifier so we can unlock paid features — we never receive or store your full card or bank details.

Usage and diagnostics

We collect limited technical and diagnostic information — such as error and crash logs and basic usage events — to keep the service reliable and to fix problems.

How we use your information

  • To run the core service: check your watches and send you alerts when something changes.
  • To create and secure your account and sync your data across your devices.
  • To process and unlock subscriptions, and to provide customer support.
  • To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve reliability and features.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your watches or alerts to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell your personal information.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate Pinglist:

  • Infrastructure and service providers — hosting, databases, error monitoring, and similar vendors that process data on our behalf under confidentiality terms.
  • Apple and Google — for optional sign-in, app distribution, payments, and push notification delivery.
  • RevenueCat — to manage subscriptions and entitlements.
  • The sources you choose to watch — to monitor a public listing or page, we request it the way a normal browser would; we don’t share your identity with those sources.
  • Legal and safety — when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.
  • Business transfers — if Pinglist is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you where required.

Notifications

Push notifications are how Pinglist delivers value, but they are always optional. You control them through your device’s system settings and the in-app notification preferences (including per-signal toggles and quiet hours). Turning them off does not delete your watches.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app — this immediately and irreversibly erases your watches, alerts, profile, devices, and subscription record from our systems. You can also email us and we’ll handle the deletion for you. Some records may be retained for a limited period where required by law (for example, billing records held by the app stores).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. The fastest way to delete everything is the in-app control above; for any other request, contact us using the details below and we’ll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

Security

We use industry-standard measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to respond promptly to any incident.

Children

Pinglist is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

Pinglist may be operated from, and your information processed in, countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy and applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Pinglist after a change means you accept the updated policy.
